Family Dinner Day- September 26
A new study from Columbia University's National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse (CASA) shows that teens greatly benefit from frequent family dinners. Compared to teens who have two or fewer dinners per week with their family, teens who have five or more are less likely to smoke, drink and to use drugs. In addition, they are more likely to have higher academic scores, to confide in their parents, and to feel that their parents are proud of them. To encourage more family dinners, CASA has designated Monday, September 26th as "Family Day - A Day to Eat Dinner with Your Children."
