Statewide Coalition of Conservative Organizations and Activists

Discussion Group:

One of the two primary reasons that we are calling for a statewide coalition of conservative organizations & activists is because in real time, all moral and conservative issues work hand in hand. Since society is always a generation away from bestiality, socializing the next generation is its most important earthly responsibility.

All moral conservative issues are vital to socializing of the next generation. Religion must “turn the heart of the fathers to the children and the children to their fathers” (Malachi 4:6). Small government allows the family to socialize the next generation, and home schooling asserts parental control of socialization. Unity is required at any given time. A house divided against itself cannot stand.

The battle (below) of the school director at Dover Area School District (York County) may illustrate how a coalition could facilitate the next level of political activism: campaigning in targeted local districts. Since the PA Family Institute publishes a nonpartisan, conservative voter's guide every two years at http://www.PAVoter.com (which all conservative organizations should make available to their memberships), and since People Concerned for the Unborn Child (PCUC) publishes the LIFEPAC pro-life voter's guide every election containing the statewide races at http://www.lifepac,net (which can be made available to the membership off all conservative organizations), a new coalition could engage in campaigns in targeted local legislative districts or battles like that of the Dover Area school director (below).

With that in mind, one may contemplate how to contribute to the school director's battle against the PSEA. Many hands make light work. Individuals can make small or modest monetary donations and forward this news of this battle to other organizations & other activists who might make be able to contribute. Perhaps later a foundation or PAC could be developed for raising funds.

Still in the exploratory stage is an effort to air the public access talk show on the sanctity of life and conservative issues, LOVE THEM BOTH, on the public access television station which already exists in York. If successful, this may provide a mass media forum to take up the issue and campaign for re-election.

___ begin forwarded communique:

Julie and Betsy,

I received a phone call from a school director in York County yesterday --Dover Area School District to be precise. He is one of the incumbents who voted for the policy change last year to allow the evolution/intelligent design statement to be read prior to the beginning of 9th grade biology class. He said that the PSEA, teachers' union PAC and a state representative have donated money for the opponents' campaign.

He was wondering if there might be some organization that might help them out with campaign funds. He's thinking to effectively counter the other side it will take $10,000 to $15,000 for billboards, TV and print ads. He's hoping to have this together within the next couple weeks.

They have formed a PAC -- Dover First -- and have or will have a website -- http://www.doverfirst.net -- set up for individuals to contribute online via Pay Pal.

Do you know of a source where they could possibly get some financial help? Could you let me know ASAP?

Thanks,

Diane

____ Additonal message:

Diane,

I see that there will be hearings soon on the school district's case.

Julie and Betsy, do you how we might get in touch with Steve Sobek? He testified at one of the round tables for including intelligent design in school curriculum. I think he had a website http://www.getequiped.org. He might know of larger organizations specifically interested in this battle. Also, Science Ministries, I think they are www.scienceministries.org or http://www.scienceministry.org, Dr. Kelly Holloway from Eagle Council a few years back.

I'm sending to others who might be interested in helping Alan as well.
