Greetings, STATE BUDGET AT AN IMPASSE WITH With what was best described by one Capitol newsroom reporter as a game of "political chicken" budget talks in During a Senate Republican leadership press conference on the budget yesterday, Pre-K Counts was described as "a decent program, but we cannot afford it". This is serious reason for concern and something we must respond aggressively to. Later in the day, the Governor reached out personally to the leadership of Pre-K Today and asked for our help to push legislative leaders to resolve the budget impasse and fund pre-K. We need your help, once again, to reach out to legislative leaders and urge them to go back to the negotiating table and to fund Pre-K Counts.
