Subject: Pre-K Counts propaganda - Please read!

Please read this e-mail from well-organized Pre-K Counts proponents.  To counter this, please call your legislators and ask them to exclude Pre-K Counts from the state budget.

Subject: Budget At An Impasse !!!

Pre-K Today

Greetings,

STATE BUDGET AT AN IMPASSE WITH
PRE-K HANGING ON BY A THREAD

With what was best described by one Capitol newsroom reporter as a game of "political chicken" budget talks in Harrisburg have come to a halt.  While many of the governor's initiatives such as transportation and energy are dominating the press coverage - core investments in the state budget such as pre-K are caught in the political crosshairs and hanging on by a thread.

During a Senate Republican leadership press conference on the budget yesterday, Pre-K Counts was described as "a decent program, but we cannot afford it".  This is serious reason for concern and something we must respond aggressively to.

Later in the day, the Governor reached out personally to the leadership of Pre-K Today and asked for our help to push legislative leaders to resolve the budget impasse and fund pre-K.  We need your help, once again, to reach out to legislative leaders and urge them to go back to the negotiating table and to fund Pre-K Counts.

Click here to send your urgent message to legislative leaders that we must fund pre-K:

If you have taken action before, we need you to do so again.  Many of you are making plans to serve new children with high quality pre-K this fall - but the funds you are planning on using are NOT in the state budget and are NOT likely to be in the final budget unless you act today.

Help save pre-k by clicking here:

We will not win unless you help!!!
We need to flood leadership offices today with a message to support pre-k.

Thank you,

Pre-K Today
