Philadelphia's Pocket Full of Rainbows

Pocket Full of Rainbows

Thank goodness I know at least one man who isn't about to let the enemy get a foothold in his town--Pastor Herb Lusk. Together with hundreds of local parents and church leaders, he protested the decision to force Philadelphia's public schools to celebrate an entire month of "Gay and Lesbian History." After printing over 200,000 calendars commemorating the dates and planning special activities devoted to "gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender" tributes, the district withdrew their plans. "We were just not prepared for the controversy," a ranking school official said. "We were besieged by calls [and] letters, and we didn't have the manpower to staff it." Maybe now they can get back to the business of academics rather than promoting political agendas.
