Focus on the Family Asks PA Senator to Return to Pro-Life Roots

Focus on the Family Asks Senator to Return to Pro-Life Roots

Newspaper ad highlights Sen. Casey's pro-life campaign, anti-life voting record.

Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa., has wandered from the pro-life fold, and an ad in newspapers across Pennsylvania this week is asking him to return.

Focus on the Family and the Pennsylvania Family Institute placed the ad in four papers, including the Pittsburg Post Gazette. It will run Thursday in some areas and Sunday in others.

Casey presented himself to voters last year as his father's son — Robert Casey was a pro-life Democrat who served as governor of Pennsylvania from 1987-1995.

But twice this year, the younger Casey has supported funding for abortion providers in the U.S. and abroad. He voted against the Mexico City policy, which would have continued to prevent tax dollars from going to overseas groups that perform abortions. And in October, he voted against an amendment that would have prevented Title X family planning funds from supporting abortion providers.

The ad reads: “Senator, be who you claim to be. Live up to your pro-life commitment. And if you are who you claim to be, then work to defend the most innocent, defenseless member of the human family, the unborn child."

It continues: "We're certain Pennsylvania’s voters will want to let Senator Casey know just what they think about his votes."

TAKE ACTION
If you live in Pennsylvania, please call all of Sen. Casey's offices and ask him to return to his pro-life roots.
