NEW HAMPSHIRE NEA TO ENDORSE CLINTON AND HUCKABEE

NEW HAMPSHIRE NEA TO ENDORSE CLINTON AND HUCKABEE. This is the first time NH NEA, a 16,000 member affiliate of the NEA, has endorsed a presidential candidate for the Republican primary. He was the only Republican candidate to address the NEA at its national convention last July. Arkansas Eagle leader Betsy Hagan wasn’t surprised that Huckabee, who considers himself “a paradoxical Republican,” would receive an endorsement from an NEA affiliate: “He’s to the left on education. While Governor of Arkansas he didn’t replace any of Bill Clinton’s appointments in the state education department and supported their policies. Instead of putting an end to outcome-based education like he said he would, he just went along with the education policies of the previous Clinton administration.”
