PA State Legislators Received Many Gifts

State Legislators Received Many Gifts

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - State lawmakers raked in thousands of dollars worth of freebies last year - from ski passes and football tickets to air travel and hotel accommodations. The gifts and subsidized travel were disclosed on the annual Statement of Financial Interests forms that public officials in Pennsylvania had to file by yesterday. Legislators were provided free seats at Penn State and Pitt college football games, Pocono Raceway events, professional baseball and basketball games and a stage performance of Disney's "The Lion King" musical. One lawmaker says he took an interest-free loan from one of his own employees. Several say they've got credit cards with interest rates well above 20 percent.
