U.S. House Passes Threat to Religious Liberty!

The U.S. House voted 237-180 (Roll Call) to pass the so-called "hate crimes" legislation, a blow to religious liberty. The U.S. Senate has not yet voted on this issue.

Take Action!
-Read the Roll Call for the U.S. House vote on HR 1592.
-Call or email your U.S. Representative through our Citizen Action Center.
-Thank them if they voted NAY or express your disappointment if they voted YEA.
-Call or email U.S. Senators Bob Casey and Arlen Specter and tell them to vote against HR 1592 when it comes up in the Senate!

This "hate crimes" legislation would add federal penalties for crimes involving sexual orientation or gender identity. If passed, the measure would give sexual preference special protection comparable to that given race and religious belief.

President Bush has said he is likely to VETO this legislation, please call or email him and thank him for protecting religious liberty. Use our Citizen Action Center.
