Pro-Life Prayer & Picket Demo Against the NEA Pro-Abortion Agenda
Sunday July 1st 1–3 PM
May 15, 2007
Dear Pro-Life Activist Leaders, Friends, & Colleagues across
Please help stage a massive (but peaceful), high-visibility, pro-life prayer & picket demo at the Pennsylvania Convention Center – with nationwide press coverage – against the NEA leadership’s pro-abortion agenda.
The National Education Association teacher union is holding its annual convention in
Therefore: Please recruit as many pro-life people as you can muster to help picket against the NEA leadership’s pro-abortion policies & activism. We need hundreds (even thousands) of men & women, children & babies, clergy, etc from all walks of life – in addition to teachers, school employees & students. The demonstration is scheduled for 1:00–3:00 PM on Sunday, July 1. (Rain or Shine!)
Most Americans are unaware of the NEA leadership’s radical agenda. This event can be one of the most significant pro-life “happenings” of the year in the
* Other states across
A general press release* will be sent out by June 28. All pro-life organizations and churches supporting the demonstrations are encouraged to send out their own independent press releases on June 29. A “flood” of press releases can only enhance media coverage of the event and impact upon the public’s consciousness.
(* If your organization would like to be listed as a participating group in the press release, please advise me by June 23.)
Participating organizations to date:
LOAF League of American Families ~ John Tomicki, Executive Director
LEARN Life Education and Resource Network ~ Rev. Clenard H. Childress Jr., NJ Director
Do NOT assume that other pro-life activists already know about this opportunity. Inform them yourself or send me their e-mail address and I shall send them this same letter. Send out your own notification to any & all pro-life groups and individuals in your circle of contacts. IDEA: Send this proposal/plan to your entire e-mail list.
As I have said for years: “Pro-abortion teachers makes about as much sense as pro-arson forest rangers.”
If YOU are committed to making this pro-life event a success… PLEASE CONTACT ME -- ASAP.
><> Yours for Life,
Bob Pawson

Incidentally, the NEA Convention will be in
Plan ahead to picket the Convention, the NEA national HQ office in DC, & all 50 states on Wed 7/2/08.
Additional data, Background info, Maps, etc:
NEA Resolution I-13 on Family Planning was adopted in 1985, amended in 1986, and is reaffirmed annually at every Convention:
“The National Education Association supports family planning, including the right to reproductive freedom.
The Association urges the government to give high priority to making available all methods of family planning to women and men unable to take advantage of private facilities.
The Association further urges the implementation of community-operated, school-based family planning clinics that will provide intensive counseling by trained personnel.”
In 1990, the NEA delegates easily passed New Business Item 1990-65.
“NEA will oppose any legislation which will erode the status of Roe v. Wade and/or which impedes access to and choice of reproductive health care options, by providing technical assistance to state affiliates.”
The NEA leadership is one of Planned Parenthood’s primary advocates. The NEA leadership co-sponsored the pro-abortion rally in
You can find out more about the NEA leadership’s radical agenda on many issues (including abortion, homosexuality, sex education, home schooling, illegal immigration, etc) by going to the NEA homepage at www.nea.org/index.html or... click 2006-2007 NEA Resolutions. A searchable PDF file will open.
SOME SUGGESTED WORDING for PICKET SIGNS:
OK to bring standard pro-life signs (Abortion Kills Children, Stop Abortion Now, Abortion Hurts Women)
However, if some folks are motivated to create new signs, some ideas are below.
Please ~ All signs should be easy to read, big print – to be seen best by millions of
TV news viewers, newspapers & magazine photos, web surfers, etc…
REPEAL NEA RES I-13 MAKE NEA ABORTION NEUTRAL PRO-LIFE NEA MEMBER
PRO-LIFE TEACHER PRO-LIFE SCHOOL EMPLOYEE PRO-LIFE PARENT
PRO-LIFE STUDENT ABORTION = FEWER STUDENTS
FORMER FETUS / CURRENT STUDENT 25 DEAD BABIES = 1 LOST CLASS
ABORTION = UNEMPLOYED TEACHERS TEACHERS SHOULD NOT SUPPORT KILLING BABIES
Press coverage will go NATIONAL & International front page & top-story for several reasons:
1) The NEA is rarely targeted for any sort of public demonstrations. THAT is newsworthy in and of it’s self! NEA takes pride in being the group which DOES the picketing! NEA is never the target OF picketing!
2) The idea of the NEA being picketed by a coalition of Parents/Taxpayers; Children/Students; and TEACHERS & School Employees (including NEA members!)… will be too much for the media to pass up.
3) The media will not be able to ignore such an event – partly because the media ATTENDS the convention.
WEAR PRO-LIFE MESSAGE T-SHIRTS & BUTTONS/PINS if you can!
SPECIAL INFO for Pro-Life TEACHERS / SCHOOL EMPLOYEES and NEA MEMBERS:
If you are an NEA member, YOU can actually go into the NEA Convention. You can ENTER the Convention Center and REGISTER (Should be FREE for NEA members). Just show your NEA or affiliate ID card at the Registration booth. Visit the EXHIBITS (June 30 – July 2)! See for yourself some of the radical organizations and causes on display. When you register, you will be issued a BADGE / NAME TAG “credentials”. Be sure to wear your “credentials” while picketing outside. DO NOT PICKET inside… although it is OK to wear pro-life t-shirts & buttons inside. (Suggestion: Wear a jacket over your pro-life t-shirt until AFTER you register.) Visit the TEACHERS SAVING CHILDREN pro-life booth and/or the NEA EDUCATORS for LIFE Caucus booth. You may also register guests (at low cost… or possibly no cost for guests under age 18).
