Stand in the Gap: Men of Honor Revisit National Mall

Men of Honor Revisit National Mall

Seeking to replicate the national revival prompted by the 1997 "Stand in the Gap" rally in Washington, D.C., a coalition of 81 Christian's men's groups, including Promise Keepers, will assemble hundreds of thousands of men for another historic gathering on October 4. The 1997 "Sacred Assembly" was the largest gathering of Christian men in American history, and the largest event ever to take place on the National Mall. Men from every racial, ethnic, and economic background attended the all-day event. This year, the National Coalition of Men's Ministries (NCCM) and the Washington Area Coalition of Men's Ministries will host "Stand in the Gap 2007," which they expect will draw a quarter-million men from across the country to the foot of the Washington Monument. There they will continue work of the first Sacred Assembly of "returning, remembering, renewing, and rebuilding the foundations of Biblical manhood in America."
