Day 12: How you can help save more lives...

Over the first 11 days of 40 Days for Life, I've shared
many amazing reports from around the country about the
positive impact that 40 Days for Life is having...

...I've sent you the inspiring devotionals, written by
Carmen Pate and Fr. Frank Pavone...

...I've told you about how 40 Days for Life is sending
shockwaves through the abortion industry...

...and I've shared stories of the everyday heroes God
is using to save lives and protect women and men from
the harm of abortion.

(If you missed any of the daily updates, they're all
posted online at: )

Now, on Day 12, I have a favor to ask YOU.

There are currently 12,198 people receiving these daily
updates, prayer requests, and devotionals about 40 Days
for Life.

During this week we're just beginning, I would like to
double that number to 25,000 people praying together
during this crucial time in our nation's history.

By doubling the number of people praying, fasting, and
taking action during 40 Days for Life, the impact of
this groundbreaking effort could be doubled -- or MORE!

Here's how you can help:

1.) Send an e-mail to 12 -- or more -- people you know
(since today is Day 12 of 40 Days for Life :-)

2.) Share your thoughts about 40 Days for Life and
how the daily updates have touched you.

3.) Encourage them to go to and
sign-up to receive the daily updates so they can
unite their prayers with yours and those of
faithful believers across the nation.

That's it!

Your message will be most effective if it's written in
your own words, but if it's easier for you, I've also
included sample text below that you can simply cut and
paste into a new e-mail message, add the addresses of
12 or more people, and then hit "Send."

Thanks for helping to build the momentum of 40 Days for
Life by inviting others to pray, and I look forward to
sharing more exciting news with you in the coming days!

Over the last few days, I have been praying and fasting
for an end to abortion as part of the groundbreaking 40
Days for Life campaign.

Since this effort started on September 26, many lives
have been saved from abortion, many women and men have
been protected from making a tragic decision that could
haunt them for a lifetime, and many people who have
experienced the pain of abortion in their past have
begun to find healing.

I receive regular updates about the 40 Days for Life
campaign, and have been inspired by the amazing things
that God is doing all across America.

I'd like to invite you to join me in this important
initiative. Here's how...

Go to:

On the top right of the page, you will see a form that
reads: "Get Updates." Enter your name, email, and zip
code to receive the updates, devotionals, and prayer
requests about 40 Days for Life.

Then join me and others all around the country who are
heeding the words of 2 Chronicles 7:14: "If my people,
who are called by my name, will humble themselves and
pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways,
then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin
and will heal their land."

Let's make 2007 the year that marks the beginning of
the end of abortion!

Here's today's devotional...

Daily Devotional by: Carmen Pate

Pray for a worshipful attitude of praise as those
standing in peaceful vigil sing a new song in their
hearts, for indeed His mercies are new every morning.

"Praise to God for His salvation and Judgment. Praise
the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song, and His praise
in the assembly of saints." -- Psalm 149:1

The Lord delights in the praises of His people. We
don't have to rely on "old" blessings to find reason to
praise Him because His blessings and mercies are new
every morning. He is worthy of praise for who He is and
what He is doing today.

The entire book of Psalms is a collection of worship
songs written by a variety of authors over an extended
period in Israel's history. Individual responses to
God's revelation of Himself are reflected in the Psalms
as a way of giving testimony and praise to God and as a
way of recording what God had done so that future
generations might know God and worship Him as their
forefathers had done.

Images of God recorded are as varied as the many ways
in which He interacted in their lives. He is revealed
as our shield, our rock, our King, our shepherd, our
refuge, our fortress, our avenger, our deliverer, our
protector, our redeemer and more. Consider the image He
has revealed to you as He has shown His mighty hand of
providence in your life, even today. Praise Him with a
new song in your heart acknowledging He is worthy to be

Praising God in song is your best weapon against the
enemy. When you praise God you are showing the heavenly
hosts, powers, principalities, demons of darkness, and
angels of light that your great God is worthy of
praise, regardless of the circumstances. Praise
produces victory and victory evokes praise.

Praising God in song draws others to ask for the reason
for your hope and joy. Imagine those, whose hearts
surely cannot sing - the abortionist, the abortion
clinic workers, the post-abortive woman.

"Oh, sing to the Lord a new song! Sing to the Lord, all
the earth. Sing to the Lord, bless His name. Proclaim
the good news of His salvation from day to day." --
Psalm 96:1-2.

Oh Lord, Most High, I will sing of your mercies
forever. With my mouth will I make known your
faithfulness to all generations.

I want to show forth your loving kindness in the
morning and your faithfulness every night. May the song
in my heart overflow from my mouth in praise and may
others draw near to you through my testimony of your

Give those who do not know you a longing for You and
may You put a new song in their heart!

In the name of Christ, who alone is worthy of praise,

Your Brother In Christ,
