Day 7: The abortion empire strikes back

40 Days for Life is already having a potent impact on Planned Parenthood and
the entire abortion industry.

"We know from past experience that these rallies and prayer vigils create
barriers that deter our patients," admitted Chris Charbonneau, President and
CEO of Planned Parenthood of Western Washington in a press release sent out
by the abortion chain in response to 40 Days for Life.

Abortion numbers and revenues are dropping in numerous locations, morale is
at a low level in many abortion centers, and the positive press about the
prayerful 40 Days for Life campaign is driving them crazy.

Now Planned Parenthood and abortion advocates across America are desperately
trying to fight back against the nationwide onslaught of prayer:

* In Norwich, CT, 40 Days for Life yard signs have been vandalized with the
words "Eat Babies" crudely written across them.

* In College Station, TX, Planned Parenthood put up a huge black tarp across
their fence to block their customers from seeing prayer volunteers or
talking to sidewalk counselors. What ever happened to giving women a choice?

* In the Bronx area of New York City, abortion escorts regularly scream vile
obscenities and anti-religious bigotry at 40 Days for Life volunteers.

* In Pittsburgh, PA, Planned Parenthood advocates bumped into a prayer
volunteer with their moving car, and them proceeded to open their car doors
into the 40 Days for Life volunteers.

* In many locations across the country, Planned Parenthood has launched its
laughable "Pledge-a- Picketer" campaigns, attempting to dissuade 40 Days for
Life prayer volunteers from coming out by trying to convince them that they
are actually raising money for the abortion chain.

* In the media, Planned Parenthood has tried to falsely portray 40 Days for
Life volunteers as violent, threatening, harassing, and hateful. For anyone
who has been out to a 40 Days for Life vigil, you know that is the exact
opposite of the truth... but for a business that makes millions by killing
people, lying isn't difficult either.

And today, at 10 AM, Planned Parenthood thumbed its nose at God, at the most
fundamental of human rights, and at the people of Aurora, Illinois, by
opening its new 22,000 square-foot abortion mega center.

Eric Scheidler, the courageous and heroic leader of the Aurora effort said
it best:

"Don't lose heart! We have suffered a defeat, but only after the tremendous
victory of keeping Planned Parenthood closed for two weeks -- more than we
dared to hope for when we began two months ago."

"In His great mercy, the Lord has given us an opportunity to be truly
faithful -- to continue to trust in him even more deeply as we face the
sorrow of this day."

"So let us be sorrowful -- we must feel sorrow on this day -- but let that
sorrow rest upon a firm foundation of hope. Let our refrain this day be:
'Jesus, we trust in you!'"

We are not to despair, but instead are called to look to the future with
hope. (Jeremiah 29:11-12)

Today's devotional will really bless you...

Daily Devotional by: Carmen Pate

Pray that the abortionists and all workers in abortion facilities would be
troubled in their souls regarding their work and would seek truth.

"Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be
put away from you, with all malice. And be kind one to another,
tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ s sake has
forgiven you." -- Ephesians 4:31-32

We see the evil and oppression in the world, the arrogance of those who mock
God, the millions of innocent lives destroyed because of the greed of a few.

What starts out as righteous anger can easily become the seed for bitterness
when, in our finite minds, we only see the injustice. Our flesh tells us
that we should take justice in our own hands, but the Lord says, "Vengeance
is Mine".

Instead of vengeance, the Lord calls us to love our enemy, to forgive others
as we have been forgiven. His desire is that none should perish, but that
all would come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

God loves the abortionist and the Planned Parenthood advocate just as much
as He loves you. It breaks His heart to see them in bondage to sin and He is
giving you this opportunity to introduce them to the Savior who sets the
captive free.

Though you may not experience direct interaction with these souls, your
presence will not go unnoticed. Your non-verbal communications speak volumes
about the God you serve. A heart filled with God's truth and love will
overflow with actions that are loving, joyful, peaceful, kind, good, and

But how can we forgive them for what they continue to do? What God calls us
to do, He will equip us to do.

Forgiveness is an act of obedience to God (Colossians
3:13). Forgiveness is not condoning or overlooking the wrong behavior of
others, but rather it is freeing ourselves from the bondage of unforgiveness
so that God can work mightily through us to touch their hearts for Him.

Let's join our hearts with His in recognizing that those in the abortion
industry are not the enemy, but rather they are blinded by the enemy. God
desires that we bring them the message of truth and hope found in Christ,
but the messengers He will use are those willing to forgive.

Dearest God, You tell us in Proverbs that the foolish and the wicked lack
wisdom and understanding. I pray you will trouble the souls of those in the
abortion industry so that they hunger for truth and cry out for freedom.

Lord, I pray you will remind me of where you found my wicked soul, and yet
you brought me out of the horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my
feet upon the rock, and established my steps. I pray that my life would
reflect my redemption so others may see it and trust in You.

In obedience to You, and by your grace, I choose to forgive others as you
have forgiven me.

In the name of Christ my Redeemer I pray, AMEN.
