YCOP Airing 4 New InformedPA Radio Ads Urging Legislative Leaders Mellow, Brightbill And DeWeese To Repeal Unconstitutional Pay Hike

HARRISBURG (Sept. 19, 2005)- With Monday September 26th's Rock The Capital Rally only a week away, Young Conservatives of Pennsylvania today unveiled 4 brand-new InformedPA.com radio ads. The spots, which begin airing today in 3 new markets, urge Harrisburg leaders Bob Mellow, Chip Brightbill, and Bill DeWeese to repeal their controversial July 7th late night 32%-34% pay hike to almost $135,000 a year.

The 4 ads are part of YCOP's ongoing InformedPA.com project, and can be heard by clicking here. The new radio spots will air for at least 4 weeks.

The sixty second Mellow ad can be heard 7 days a week on NEPA AM powerhouse WILK 910 Scranton/980 Wilkes-Barre/1300 Hazelton, and the Brighbill ads will be broadcast on Central PA flagship WHP 580 as well as Lebanon's 100.1FM WQIC and sister station WLBR 1210AM. Meanwhile, the DeWeese spot will air on Uniontown's popular news talk station WMBS 590AM, which broadcasts into Greene and Fayette County. It is worth noting that the Brightbill ads can be heard during WHP's Bob Durgin Show, which has been extremely active in organizing and promoting the upcoming Rock The Capitol Rally on September 26th.

"While Senator Mellow, Senator Brightbill, and Representative DeWeese were all instrumental in passing the infamous July 7th late night pay hike, they each have a golden opportunity to set things right by voting to repeal the unconstitutional pay raise," said YCOP State Chairman Chris Lilik. "We hope they will side with the vast majority of Pennsylvanians who want the pay raise rescinded and our legislators to be more responsible with our hard-earned tax dollars."

With these additional spots, YCOP will have aired InformedPA.com radio ads in 6 House and Senate leaders' districts (3 Democrat leaders and 3 GOP leaders), and put up a total of 4 InformedPA.com billboards. Visitors to InformedPA.com can hear the radio ads, view InformedPA.com billboards, make a contribution for a "Remember The Pay Raise!" bumper sticker, or even help sponsor the InformedPA.com effort.
